Long Grain, formerly Lemongrass Grill, is a newly renovated Thai and Japanese fusion restaurant, which still offers many of the previously loved dishes. With even more to offer, try the beef masaman curry with coconut milk with tamarind juice for a finger licking delight. The chicken Thai sweet basil with sautéed chili peppers is a favorite that will give your mouth a kick. No matter what you decide to on Long Grain is definitely sure to please your palate.
the spicy basil fried rice is awesome

EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK: Food may contain foreign objects such as staples!
Would give ZERO stars if possible.
I've ordered numerous times from this restaurant as the food is consistent, it's close & delivers promptly. Tonight however was the last as I bit into a hard metal object which was clearly a straightened out staple. HOW that could end up in FOOD I'll never know. Of course I called the restaurant to inform of this which directed me to contact Seamless. The Customer Service staff at Seamless was very kind and understanding and assured me they would facilitate a refund w/ Long Grain. Shortly thereafter Seamless followed back up with me to let me know the manager would only refund me for the item containing the staple, not both items on my order. Clearly they care nothing about repeat business. Given I ordered two of the same dish, my companion was not exactly enthusiastic about finishing their meal after my staple encounter and I believe a full refund should have been in order.

I wish a 2.5 were possible, because everything about this restaurant was right in the middle, nothing to complain about, but nothing to really celebrate, either. Their squid salad arrived warm, which was kind of a concern and was too fishy for me to want to finish all of it. The noodles were alright. I also feel like their spices and seasonings are a little bit off for Thai, like, they don't taste very authentic or fresh. It is more like the "greasy corner Chinese food" of thai cuisine. I would probably feel better about it if it had cost less. For the price, their portions are on the small side, so it isn't a great value either. If you're looking to try Thai, I'm sure they have some good, straightforward food that is kid-friendly, but if you really like Thai food, you'll be disappointed.

The food was absolutely terrible. I was really craving sushi, so I was really excited to get it. I ordered the edemame, spicy tuna roll, and the cucumber roll -- pretty easy stuff. The spicy tuna role looked like nothing I've ever seen before -- it looked like wet cat food stuffed into a seaweed wrap, no discernible fish at all. The cucumber roll was completely falling apart. The edemam was fine, although overcooked. After spending $24 for all of this, I am beyond disappointed and will never be ordering from here again.

This is a bipolar restaurant. The sushi is good, particularly the spicy scallop roll and spicy salmon, but the cooked food has gone from bad to inedible. I ordered a crispy duck salad which tasted like intestines, very heavy taste, went straight to the garbage. The cashew nuts chicken was tasteless, the sauce dreadful, and the chicken chewy and stale. Straight to the garbage. Their delivery is always late too. Last time for me. It's a shame because their rolls are good.

OK Thai for where I am. There's a lack of delivery options near where I live and this is the best Thai option. Gets here in time, delivered hot. Food is alright but not incredible but it's my go to if I want Thai.

Always enjoy the food, so I continue to order; however delivery time is usually at least an hour (with no notice) instead of the 30-45 mins advertised.

Excellent food! I've ordered here about 5 or 6 times and they have always arrived on time and were friendly (Yeah, Nikko delivery men, I'm calling y'all out). I've had the Duck Tamarind and various sushi rolls. All great.

OK, not great. I ordered the Pad Thai Rice Noodles and Summer Roll, neither were that appetizing. Didn't taste right, not sure why. Maybe since I ordered late at night and it wasn't fresh. Won't be ordering again regardless.

If there were a lower rating I would give it. Ordered food here, it took an hour and 20 minutes. The chicken I ordered had no taste and was soggy cause of how long it took to get to me. Really disappointed with my purchase.

I didn't want to believe the other bad reviews but it's true. I ordered the green curry and it was so watery AND oily. All the vegetables were mushy. And the salad that came with it had no green. All white lettuce with a terrible peanut sauce. Do yourself a favor and order somewhere else. Land is pretty good.

This place is great. They make the BEST tofu pad thai I've ever had, their sushi is delicious, the nasi goreng Bali is great; they're great when you're at the restaurant, too. Sometimes the delivery guys are cool, sometimes they're not (there's one or two that NEVER read my rather specific delivery instructions, but most of them do). Overall it's one of my favorite places.
Posted a year ago by Stephanie M.
I think their Pad Thai is one of the best in this neighborhood, and I'm pretty sure I've tried them all. I only order Thai from them (despite the generic "Asian/fusion" menu, which seems to have invaded the UWS), and the dishes are reliable if not stellar. Deliveries have always been timely, but I also live within a radius of under 10 blocks.

The stars are for the food, not the service. Waited over an hour and then got yelled at by delivery man because what I thought was a tip when I ordered turned out to be a delivery fee. He was mad that I didn't have any cash on hand to give him. Either they need to give that fee to the delivery man or take it off.

The food at this place was pretty good, although I would say a little overpriced. it also took an extremely long time to come to me - over twice as long as stated in the delivery estimate. Additionally, the guy was very rude. He held the door buzzer for a solid 15 seconds while I tried to buzz him in, then came up the stairs and banged on the door instead of knocking or ringing the bell. The then thrust the food at me and walked away without a word or asking me to sign. I did like the food (pad thai), and the tofu in it was stellar, but it wasn't all that great and I doubt I'd order again due to how long it took and how rude they were. If you're willing to wait/don't care about service, go ahead. I'm sure some items are very tasty.

The food is delicious but make sure that you are not hungry when you order. I have ordered from here three or four time and the wait for delivery is always over an hour. This restaurant has the WORST delivery and service i have ever experienced. Tonight, i ordered my meal at 7:50pm. When it arrived, at 8:45pm, i received the wrong entree. Upon calling the restaurat, I received no apology and was told that someone would bring my meal. My entree (the one i actually ordered) arrived at 10:20pm, a full 2 and a half hours after i first placed my order (i called at 9:40 to check on it, and was told it was on it's way, but it didn't arrive for another 40 minutes). In addition, the woman on the phone was extremely rude, would not allow me to speak to a manager, and wouldn't give me her name so i could follow up the next day. I completely understand that mistakes happen with orders at times, but the way that this restaurant handled the situation was absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful. I strongly encourage you to find a different place to order your food. There are so many better options.

Service was horrific - called the restaurant after an hour and was told our order had already been sent. After two hours we called and cancelled the order. During each of the three calls we had made we were put on hold for several minutes and were never offered an apology for ruining my family's evening.

First, the delivery men are extremely rude. They'll walk 5 blocks and complain about a $2.00 tip on a $10 order.
Secondly, there's better Pad Thai and Pad See Yew in the area. While it wasn't awful, in light of the poor attitude of the workers, I'll be ordering elsewhere from now on.

Food was good but the delivery man was one of the most obnoxious I've encountered. After insisting that I pay him in cash (despite me showing him the Seamless receipt), he then demanded to use my cell phone and began yelling obscenities in my hallway. While I'm sure my neighbors were amused at the absurdity of the situation, I will most certainly not patronize this establishment in the future. A call to the restaurant was met with "I'll talk to the manager." Please do. If you're going to do business on Seamless, please get in the game or deactivate your account.

I never write reviews, but the sushi is AMAZING!!! Seriously some of the best sushi I've had in NYC, and it's good even when it's been delivered. The fish is super fresh and it's always just perfect. The Thai and everything else is pretty average, but the SUSHI is seriously so so so good. All of it. I love the Ohyami roll, the NY roll, and of course - spicy tuna.

Definitely my Best of Seamless 2012 -- with delicious thai food in gigantic portions, fresh sushi, and speedy delivery. My favorites (of which there are many) are the Spicy String Bean Basil, the Lemongrass Entree, the Salmon and Shrimp Combo or the Thai Mango Sauce.

It's ok food, but I've had a number of sort of annoying experiences -- they consistently put peanuts on my pad thai even though I very carefully say "No peanuts, please" each time, they once forgot an order of dumplings, and they once delivered my food to somebody else by mistake.

DO NOT ORDER FROM LONG GRAIN. Delivery is supposed to take up to 45 minutes. After over 1 1/2 hours and FOUR phone calls to get a status, the food finally arrived. And it's not even that good - not at all worth the wait.
During one of the four phone calls, the manager of Long Grain told me that the delivery guy was 1-2 minutes way....25 minutes later, our food arrived.

Fun in Black was mediocre compared to some of the Pad See Ew I've had, as was the Pad Kee Mao. The bubble milk tea was kind of watery. Overall food was just okay, but they only get 2 stars because they showed up more than 20 minutes later than what I had requested (after placing the order way in advance), which is frustrating when I only have an hour break.
Posted 3 years ago by Manuel M.
I usually order sushi from here, and the wait is 30 - 45 minutes, but unfortunately, today, I decided to order a Thai dish, and I waited 30 minutes only to find out that they forgot the rice that comes with the dish. I called back to alert them of this mistake, and they promised someone was coming over immediately. After a half an hour of waiting, i called to see if my rice was still on the way only to be reassured that it was coming now. Another 30 minutes later, I was about to call and complain again, and that after an hour and half I still have yet to eat my food, because they forgot the rice that comes with my dish, someone finally shows up. At this point I am so hungry from waiting, the delivery guy doesn't understand how buzzers work, and I have to buzz him in 2 more times before he figures it out. I think, after all this terrible service, I'll be looking for another Thai/Japanese place that is more responsive to their customers.

Posted 3 years ago by Simone M.
Food arrived quickly, but I just wasn't impressed with the quality at all. The summer roll was decent, but the hoisin dipping sauce didn't really taste that great. It seemed like it was watered down. The vegetables in peanut sauce did not come as I expected. The peanut sauce was on the side, which was fine with me, but I was not happy with the assortment of vegetables. It was really heavy on the onions, peppers and greenbeans. I was expecting mainly broccoli. There were even some random tomatoes in there. It wasn't a very appetizing mix for a thai dish...it was more an assortment for a stir fry. I don't know about any of the other dishes, but I won't be ordering from here again.

Ordered Pad Thai Rice Noodles, Crispy Fried Vegetable Dumpling and Key Lime Pie. Order arrived pretty quickly but food was disappointing. Pad Thai was not as flavorful as other pad thais I have tried. It was still ok tasting but very mild flavoured. The crispy dumplings were nothing special. Key lime pie was horrible. The pie itself was ok but they added whipped cream, I think, chocolate sauce and it was key lime pie a la soupy mess by the time it arrived.

I am very impressed by my delivery from Long Grain. I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special, and not only was everything very tasty and fresh, but the portions were huge for the price. I also ordered the fried banana, which was delicious. Delivery was quick, too! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food, great prices, and (so far) reliable service.

pad thai was kind of tasteless, and curry puffs seemed to consist of more grease than anything else.

The food was delicious and well priced (lunch special comes with soup, salad, and a dumpling and is only $7!), and delivery service was very fast! Only note is that I had the String Bean Basil, which is marked as being spicy and is not actually very spicy at all, but it IS still deliciously flavorful!

delivery was super fast, which is why I give 3 stars instead of 2.
Food wasn't really good and prices are higher than the equivalent in other (better) restaurants in the neighborhood.
I had panag curry, grilled beef satay and curry puffs, only the latter was good.
I picked Long Grain because they're open later than most which is a plus, but I don't think I'll be ordering from them again.

Been here dozens of times (under the name Lemongrass grill) but the food hasn't changed one bit now. Always delicious and always consistent!
Posted 3 years ago by Kristin O.
The bubble tea was not up to par. The pearls were overcooked; it wasn't chewy or "bouncy." They were actually kind of tough.
The long grain chicken wasn't what I expected, but it was still good, I guess...
I was really craving teriyaki chicken that night, and it was honestly kind of a disappointment. THe chicken was quite dry; there may have been good portions, but it could've been cooked better.
I would consider eating here if I were walking by, but I wouldn't think of this as my first choice to order from.

i've been eating here for years, in fact when they were called Lemongrass Grill. the food is always fresh, and tasty; service is courteous. the interior (b'way & 9th st) has an islander motif, with a grass ceiling and bamboo decoration.

Sushi is VERY good quality for the price and so far everything else that I've tried I would reorder. Delivery was as estimated and the prices aren't cheap- but nothing that will break the budget. Just ate a most unsatisfying meal. Very surprised given the high marks from other reviewers. I always order a Green Papaya Salad when I order Thai and this one tasted like it has been in their refrigerator all week. It was mushy and had an off flavor. We had three items with shrimp, including the Green Papaya Salad, the Summer Rolls, and the Shrimp Spring Rolls. The shrimp tasted off in all three. Nothing really ruins a dinner like spoiled foods, especially seafood. Tofu Noodle Mao was just average. Edamame was good, but they only steamed those. Hot & Sour Thai Soup was average too.
I have never written a review before and am usually very easy to please. Serving spoiled foods and foods that have been in storage for too long warrants a note though. There are a lot of other Thai restaurants in the neighborhood. All of them are better than what I experienced with Long Grain Thai & Japanese.

The food was delivered two hours earlier than requested and was sent back. When the food came the second time, it was clearly re-heated rather than made fresh....the noodles were dried and hard. When we called to complain, the manager denied everything. If the same thing happens to you, don't count on getting a fresh order or management fixing the problem!

An excellent variety of duck dishes. Duck dishes often have lots of bones, but not at Lemongrass Grill: a high caliber, but not terribly expensive restaurant. (Duck generally tends to be a little more expensive, but still priced within reason.)
Lemongrass Grill's lunch specials are quality and a great bargain too.

Good food, nothing over the top fabulous, but definitely worth it.

The food here was bordering on disgusting. It is not Asian. It is fast food with bottled chemicals and thoughtless preparation. Stay away unless your feeling depressed and want to poison yourself. If you don't believe, go ahead. order.

I ordered the Tom Yum soup with shrimp for 3.00 and the Green Curry dish with chicken. The food was bland although the price of the soup was impressive. There are far better Thai places on the Upper West Side with similar prices. If you're looking for good Thai food, look elsewhere.

Whoever gave this 5 stars is seriously unexperienced when it comes to Thai Food. I believe a review I once read said Lemongrass is the Thai Version of Cheap Chinese Food and I could not agree more. There are much better options in the neighborhood.

Great Thai Food! Authentic and delicious

On a positive not, the soup was very good and luckily I accidentally ordered 2 (only reason this place got 2 stars rather than 1). On the negative side, the beef I ordered was extremely hard and I felt like I was eating some extra crispy meat though it wasn't even crispy (at least not in a positive way). Won't be ordering from here again.

I was too quick to judge... My last review said that the delivery person didn't care that he forgot my soda, but then a little while later he brought it to me when he had a chance. I hadn't even called the restaurant to complain. My comments on the too-spicy curry still stand, though.
